Born in 1984, Melissa was raised in a small village named Heddon Greta near the vineyard regions of the Hunter Valley in NSW. Melissa’s love for country music shone through from the early age of five, when she sang "Your Cheating Heart" at a school talent quest, while the rest of the bill was nursery rhymes. In June 2000 and 2001 Melissa starred as a featured artist in Starstruck at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre. Having released her debut album ‘Believe in Me" in August 2001, Melissa was nominated and won 3 awards at the Meningitis Trust Independent Country Music Awards.
