Graeme Connors This is Life

Price: $29.95

Released 8th April 2002. Here's my review for Cap News (CN). Play it Loud. Don’t know if I’ve ever suggested that about a Connors album before, but this one has so much passion embedded that it’s not to be taken briefly, lightly or in passing, get into it and it will reward you three fold. This may well be a watershed album for Graeme, a moving to the next level of his career. Written and envisaged in Queensland, it’s been delivered from Nashville with a very fresh team of players, with vigour, vitality and new vision. Listen to the opening track Big Country and you’ll see the scope of the musical arrangement building for this project. It’s layers deep in musical arrangement using accordion, banjo, piano, and guitars of all description used to build songs full of ebbs and flows to take you along with the story that each song delivers. Lyrically, it’s another Connors storybook. Little plays, about the country, the people, the relationships, sometimes with a twist of social comment. As always a new Connors album is a much anticipated event, again he’s delivered a wondrous new journey.

Big Country, Everytime You Fall In Love, The Simple Truth, You're Getting To Me, Good On You, This Is Life, Could You Still Be Here, Sea Horses, Ain't That The Way It Goes, We Are What We Do, All Hell Broke Loose.
