Released January 2003, Darren’s long awaited followup to his critically acclaimed ‘Hometown’ album of 1997. Produced by Nash Chambers, six of the twelve songs Darren had a hand in writing including the title track, ‘Love is a Balancing Act’, a co-write with Allan Caswell. Others who helped out with pen in hand include Brent Parlane, Shane Howard and long time collaborator Ken McBeth. Russell (Amazing Rhythm Aces) Smith lends some vocals, and even Dobe Newton joins in the final rattling good tune ‘The Bush Dance’. There’s a very fine tribute to the back packers who lost their lives tragically in the fire at the Palace Hotel in Childers. It’s good to have him back singing on cd after a very successful interlude on the big stages in the big musical shows around this Land.
