 | | George Strait For The Last Time - Live From The Astrodome Price: $34.95 Well he closed it, now he’s opening it! George Strait’s first Live album was recorded before over 68 000 people at the closing night of the Houston Astrodome 12 months ago. Their brand new venue was opened last month, and George is the first headliner in there. To date he’s played to over 1 million ticket holders at this venue so I guess that’s why his first live album can bring the excitement of his legendary appearances at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo into your home stereo. While that electricity of the crowd is present, it doesn’t seem to overwhelm the recording as many live albums can do. His 30th album has 16 tracks including his latest and 50th number one hit ‘She’ll Leave you With a Smile’ which broke Conway Twitty’s long standing record for the most Number One songs only last December. Other favourites include ‘Write This Down’, ‘Check Yes or No’, ‘Murder On Music Row’, and a surprising number of his early hits, like ‘Amarillo By Morning’, ‘The Fireman’, and ‘the Chair’. Nice collection, great driving music. Ron – CapNews March 2003 Tracklist:
