 | | Sarah Johns Big Love in a Small TownPrice: $29.95 Touring 2008 across the USA with George Strait is always a good way to prove your credentials in country. Sarah Johns is one of the better debut releases out of Nashville for the last 12 months. I love her soulful country twang, and the infectious first single “the One In The Middle” from her debut Big Love In A Small Town CD is a defiant toe-tapping honky tonk hit. It’s just one of the 11 songs on the album, all of them co-written by Sarah with great contemporary writers like Jason Sellers and Dean Dillon. There’s a strong message of self worth and a touch of the Gretchen Wilson attitude to go along with it, but the songs are where it shines with honky tonkers, two steppers and heartbreak tunes. When Do I Get to Be a Woman, If You Could Hold Your Woman, Lot to Let Go Of , Baby My heart, Big Love in a Small Town, Touch Me, One in the Middle, That's Just Me Getting Over You, He Hates Me, Muddy Water, It's Hard to Be a Girl (In a Young Man's World)
